The interlayer Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction (IL-DMI) in a ferromagnetic/nonmagnetic/ferromagnetic metal multilayer is found to be tuned by the interfaces at the nonmagnetic spacer layer. A controllable IL-DMI can be generated by post-processing in a L10-FePt/Pt/Fe multilayer. Then, an apparent field-free magnetization switching with controllable switching polarity is achieved.
