Liquid cell transmission electron microscopy is a powerful technique for investigating crystallisation dynamics with nanometre spatial resolution; however, probing phenomena occurring in liquids while mixing two precursor solutions remains challenging. Here, the authors demonstrate how introducing and withdrawing solvents sequentially in a commercial liquid cell allows maintaining optimal imaging conditions while mixing liquids and successfully demonstrate the nanoscale crystallisation mechanism when R-BINOL-CN dissolved in chloroform interacts with methanol.
