Histone lactylation regulates DOCK4 to control heat nociception and supports Dynein-mediated Nav1.7 trafficking

The mechanism underlying abnormal pain perception in autism remains unclear. Here authors show that histone lactylation decreases Dock4, an autism-related gene, to modulate heat pain by impairing Dynein-mediated Nav1.7 membrane trafficking, providing insights into thermosensor-independent mechanisms.

Augmented microglial endoplasmic reticulum-mitochondria contacts mediate depression-like behavior in mice induced by chronic social defeat stress

Malfunctioning of cellular organelles, such as the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and mitochondria, can have a role in stress-induced pathophysiological changes. Here, the authors show that increased mitochondria‐associated endoplasmic reticulum membranes contacts related to ATP-P2X7 receptor signaling contribute to stress responses in microglia and the development of depression-like behavior in male mice.

Single-cell sequencing of ascites fluid illustrates heterogeneity and therapy-induced evolution during gastric cancer peritoneal metastasis

Peritoneal metastasis is one of the most common forms of death for gastrointestinal cancers, however, its cell composition is incompletely understood. Here, the authors use single cell RNA-seq of peritoneal metastases from 35 patients and show diversity in immune cells, and plasticity in cancer cell phenotypes and autophagy related genes as biomarkers of prognosis.
