SIRT2 counteracts primate cardiac aging via deacetylation of STAT3 that silences CDKN2B

Ye et al. characterize the cardioprotective effect of SIRT2 in primates and reveal an important role for the SIRT2–STAT3–CDKN2B regulatory axis in primate cardiac aging, improving understanding of the epigenetic mechanism governing cardiac aging.

Dalpiciclib or placebo plus fulvestrant in hormone receptor-positive and HER2-negative advanced breast cancer: a randomized, phase 3 trial

In the multicenter, phase 3 DAWNA-1 trial, the combination of dalpiciclib, a new cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 inhibitor, with fulvestrant, in patients with HR⁺HER2⁻ advanced breast cancer who progressed or relapsed on endocrine therapy, improved progression-free survival with manageable safety and may represent a new treatment option.

Activity-based metaproteomics driven discovery and enzymological characterization of potential α-galactosidases in the mouse gut microbiome

The gut microbiota offers an extensive resource of enzymes, however, many remain uncharacterized. Here, the authors apply an activity-based metaproteomics strategy using an activity-based cyclophellitol aziridine probe specific to α-galactosidases (AGAL), and identify and characterize several gut microbiota enzymes possessing AGAL activities.
