Activation and inhibition mechanisms of a plant helper NLR

In plant immunity, sensor NLR resistosomes can generate heterotrimer complexes comprising the helper NLR NRG1, and investigation of cryo-EM structures shows the mechanisms of these heterotrimers in immune activation and suppression.

An IgM-like inhalable ACE2 fusion protein broadly neutralizes SARS-CoV-2 variants

In this study, the authors report the development of an inhalable IgM-like ACE2 and show that it broadly neutralizes SARS-CoV-2 variants, lowers viral loads and lung pathology in hamsters when administered early, and has good safety profiles in rats and monkeys.

Achieving large and nonvolatile tunable magnetoresistance in organic spin valves using electronic phase separated manganites

Organic materials hold great potential of for spintronic applications. Here the authors show electronic phase dependent magnetoresistance (MR) effect in LPCMO/Alq₃/Co junctions with large MR up to 440% at 10 K as well as electrical Hanle effect as the Hallmark of the spin injection.

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome phlebovirus non-structural protein activates TPL2 signalling pathway for viral immunopathogenesis

The non-structural protein NSs of the severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus interacts with ABIN2 and promotes formation and signalling of the TPL2–ABIN2–p105 kinase complex to induce expression of the immune-suppressive cytokine IL-10 and enhance viral pathogenesis.
