Abstract
THE death of Prof. A. de Quervain at the com1 paratively early age of forty-seven years, which occurred at Zurich on Jan. 13, is a serious loss to European meteorology. His fellow-members on the different international commissions to which he belonged will miss a colleague who had endeared himself to them by his earnest enthusiasm and by his lovable disposition.
