The Sea-Bird as an Individual: Results of Ringing Experiments

Abstract

SKOKHOLM ISLAND lies a few miles off the coast of Pembrokeshire. It is about 240 acres in extent, is entirely rock-bound, and has only two houses on it, a lighthouse at the most westerly point, and this is a mile from my own house on the east side of the island. The cliffs are of Old Red Sandstone, and there is a good thick soil on the greater part of the island.
