Abstract
IN a paper which has just come to hand by Döpp1, cytological observations of some importance are given with regard to the genus Dryopteris (= Lastrea = Nephrodium) in Europe. In particular, and among other things, apogamy is reported in “D. paleacea” from four localities in Germany and Switzerland and the chromosome number in one of these plants is given as “c. 130” in contrast to the sporophytio number for normal D. Filix-mas which was previously found by the same author to be c. 1602.
