Abstract
THE destruction of nicotinic acid by suspensions of resting Pseudomonas fluorescens has been shown to be an enzymatic oxidation1. We have found that the oxygen uptake was decreased when methylene blue was added, but was not affected upon addition of sulphapyridine. However, after addition of a mixture of these compounds, a synergistic inhibition was observed.
