Abstract
THE free energy of formation of β-ferrous sulphide has recently been investigated by us as part of a wider study of the thermodynamics of metal sulphides and sulphide mixtures. In view of the metallurgical importance of ferrous sulphide, the results so far obtained are reported here, although it is intended to publish the results of the whole investigation when completed.
