Abstract
DURING an investigation of the pituitary regulation of wool growth, various ox anterior pituitary preparations were injected into normal sheep. The sheep were individually fed a constant weighed ration, and wool growth was measured by clipping an area of 20 cm. × 20 cm. defined by tattoo lines on the midside of the body at weekly or fortnightly intervals. The wool samples were extracted to remove ether-soluble and water-soluble grease, and the oven-dry weight taken as a measure of wool growth over the period between two successive clippings.
