Abstract

η-TOCOPHEROL was first isolated from rice by Green and Marcinkiewicz1. DL-η-Tocopherol has been synthesized by McHale et al.2. In a preliminary report to the fourth International Congress of Nutrition, Bunyan et al.3 gave the potency of η-tocopherol as less than 5 per cent of α-tocopherol.
