Abstract
WORK on radio-luminescence in rock salt and fluorite and other naturally occurring minerals excited by X-rays and nuclear radiations has been reported by some workers and summarized by Przibram1. The present communication deals qualitatively with the production and quenching of luminescence in pure and additively coloured crystals of sodium chloride and potassium chloride, excited by X-rays from a copper target.
