Abstract
REPORTS of the presence of chromaffin cells in human skin1–3 are of importance, because this work could, if confirmed, open a new concept in the control of the peripheral circulation4. Changes have been found to occur in these cells in the cat's tail and nictitating membrane after reserpine and denervation which could indicate their association with the sympathetic system5. Burn and Rand6 have further suggested that these cells might be the site of storage of noradrenalin in the sympathetic post-ganglionic mechanism.
