Abstract
IN order to describe accurately the kinetics of nucleophilic substitutions carried out under alkaline conditions in aqueous alcoholic solutions, in which both hydroxy and alkoxy groups are introduced, it is necessary to know the equilibrium constant (K) of the reaction:
in order to calculate the respective concentrations of the two ions.
