THE absence of a measurable pharmacological action of Staphylococcus enterotoxin in small laboratory animals limits investigation of the mode of action of this toxin. In view of published work in which drug interactions have been used to examine mechanisms of action1,2 we undertook an investigation of the toxicity of combined treatments of Staphylococcus enterotoxin and methyl-dopa in mice.
