Sex Differences in Gonadotrophin Concentrations in Infancy

Abstract

DETERMINATION of serum levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) by radioimmunoassay in groups of prepubertal children of various ages yielded the unexpected result that levels of both gonadotrophins are higher during infancy in girls than in boys1,2.
