Abstract
MAMMALIAN and plant virus messengers can be translated in living egg cells and oocytes of the tadpole of Xenopus laevis1–6, and this method could be useful in the study of messenger activity in general. Here I describe the results of experiments aimed at the use of this method for studying plant messenger RNA.
