From: Urokinase Plasminogen Activator Is Localized in Stromal Cells in Ductal Breast Cancer
uPA immunoperoxidase staining of cryostat sections and paraffin sections from the same sample of human ductal breast cancer tissue. Cryostat sections (Panels a, b) were stained with polyclonal antibodies against uPA (pAb1, 10 μg/ml) Panel a, and the same antibody preparation preabsorbed with purified immobilized uPA (pAb1−, 10 μg/ml) Panel b. Paraffin sections were incubated with the polyclonal uPA antibodies (pAb1, 5 μg/ml) Panel c. A strong signal is seen in the tumor stroma in both cryostat and paraffin sections (Panels a, c). No staining is observed in the cancer cells. Absorption with uPA completely abolished the staining (Panel b). Bar: 50 μm.
