Suppression of the cytotoxicity of RH2 by inhibitors of cell death. (a) SCCVII cells were infected with RH2 at a multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 10 and incubated in the absence or presence of the pan-caspase inhibitor z-VAD-fmk or necrostatin 1 for 24 h. Thereafter, the cytotoxicity of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) was determined by a lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release assay.
