From: miR-139 modulates MCPIP1/IL-6 expression and induces apoptosis in human OA chondrocytes
miR-139-mediated effect on the expression of MCPIP1 or IL-6 in human OA chondrocytes. OA chondrocytes were nucleofected with miR-139 mimic, miR-139 inhibitor and miR-control. Thirty-six hours later, chondrocytes were stimulated with 2 ng ml−1 IL-1β for 24 h. RNA was isolated from the chondrocytes, and complementary DNA was generated. mRNA expression was measured by TaqMan assays specific for MCPIP1 (a) and IL-6 (b) mRNAs. Gene-specific mRNA expression was normalized against β-actin expression.
