Different stages in the meiosis of the control Begonia fischeri. (a) All PMCs progress simultaneously through anaphase I, although in several PMCs lagging chromosomes were observed. (b) At telophase I, two equal nuclei were formed. (c) At anaphase II, the two nuclei formed after meiosis I divided with a different spindle orientation.
