From: miR-101a and miR-30b contribute to inflammatory cytokine-mediated β-cell dysfunction

Figure 1

Proinflammatory cytokines increase the expression of miR-101a and miR-30b. (a) MIN6 cells were incubated for 24 h in the presence or absence of a cytokine mixture (Cyt Mix) of 10 ng/ml IL-1β, 10 ng/ml TNF-α, and 10 ng/ml IFN-γ. The expression of miR-101a (left panel) and miR-30b (right panel) was assessed by real-time PCR. The expression levels are normalized to U6. The results are expressed as mean±s.d. for three independent experiments. (b) The expression levels of miR-21, miR-34a, and miR-146a in inflammatory cytokine-treated MIN6 cells were determined by real-time PCR, respectively. The expression levels are normalized to U6. The results are expressed as mean±s.d. for three independent experiments. (c) MIN6 cells were incubated in the presence of the indicated cytokines (10 ng/ml) for 24 h. The expression of miR-101a (left panel) and miR-30b (right panel) was determined by real-time PCR, and normalized to the level of U6. The data are mean±s.d. of three independent experiments. *P<0.05, compared with respective control.
