The top of the figure shows BrdU staining of proliferating cells in pNF05.5 and corresponding immortalized line ipNF05.5 and six-clone mix ipNF05.5mix. Fewer cells are shown in the immortalized photo, but a higher percentage of nuclei are BrdU-positive. The graph shows the proliferation indices (percentage of BrdU-positive cells) for these cells as well as normal SC pair pn02.3 and ipn02.3. Immortalized SC lines trended toward a higher proliferation index than the primary cultures but the differences were not statistically significant (paired t-test).
