Detection of Single Gene Effect by Inbreeding

Abstract

Wills and Nichols1 claim evidence for single gene heterosis at the octanol dehydrogenase (ODH) locus of Drosophila pseudoobscura, but this conclusion does not seem to be valid. To detect single gene heterosis they used inbreeding and conditioned media.
