OBJECTIVES: To assess attitudes, current practices, and perceived obstacles to implementation of violence prevention in the practice setting among Maryland pediatricians.

METHODS: All pediatricians in Maryland (N=841) were surveyed by mail; 402 replied (response rate, 48%). Provider characteristics were dichotomized using median splits of reported values.
