Introduction: Co-sleeping has been implicated as a possible risk factor in SIDS. We examined the rate of co-sleeping in Philadelphia and compared other risk factors for SIDS among infants who co-sleep and infants who sleep in a crib.

Methods: 399 parents of infants ≤ 6mo old were interviewed in Philadelphia clinics and pediatric private offices from 12/95-12/96. Data was analyzed by chi square after analysis of correlation coefficients with significance* at p<0.05.
