Data are presented as counts and (percentages). κ = Cohen’s Kappa coefficient and [95% CI]. The reference standards from the Fitness Registry and the Importance of Exercise National Database (FRIEND) were used to divide participants based on age and sex into the V̇O₂peak tertile group [24]. The three V̇O₂peak categories were determined as “lower” if the V̇O₂peak was below the 33rd percentile, “average” if V̇O₂peak was between the 33rd and 66th percentile, and “higher” if V̇O₂peak was above the 66th percentile. V̇O₂peak is in ml·min^–1·kg^–1.
