FOXF1 expression in human specimens by qPCR (A) and IHC (B). FOXF1 transcript and protein (brown staining) was higher in the BE epithelium compared to the squamous epithelium of NERD or EE or BE-squamous. NERD nonerosive reflux disease, EE erosive esophagitis, BE-squamous, paired squamous mucosa from patients with Barrett’s esophagus (BE). Fold changes were calculated by the delta–delta Cq method and expressed in comparison to the Cq value of one of the NERD samples. Magnification ×40; scale bar = 100 µm. *P < 0.01.
