Task-specific [11C]AMT serotonin synthesis of the ventral striatum (VStr) was negatively associated with BOLD fMRI signal changes during reward feedback (b, ρ = −0.65, pBH < 0.05), but not during anticipation (a, ρ = 0.3, pBH = 0.26). On the other hand, serotonin synthesis of the anterior insula (Ant Ins) was negatively related to BOLD signal changes of reward anticipation (c, ρ = −0.61, pBH < 0.05), but not reward feedback (d, ρ = −0.45, pBH = 0.16). Ki represents the net influx constant of [11C]AMT serotonin synthesis rates in units of min−1. BOLD parameter represent the result of the general linear model in arbitrary units.
