Mice (n = 58) were habituated to the cage, trained to drink alcohol (4–12%) and AUD-related behaviors were tested: motivation to drink alcohol (M), extinction of alcohol seeking during withdrawal (E), alcohol seeking during cue relapse (CR), alcohol drinking during alcohol relapse (AR), and alcohol seeking during a persistence test (P). During the periods of free access to alcohol (FA) mice had unlimited access to alcohol (10%). Alcohol availability was signaled by a cue light in a reward corner.
