Retraction to: Oncogene https://doi.org/10.1038/sj.onc.1207711, published online 12 April 2004
The Editors-in-Chief have retracted this article. Concerns were raised regarding western blot band similarities in Figs. 1a (p21 and α-tubulin) and 3 (PIG3). Further checks by the Publisher identified a number of straight vertical line breaks in the western blot and PCR gel image backgrounds.
The authors have stated that the raw data is no longer available due to the age of the study.
The Editors-in-Chief therefore no longer have confidence in the presented data.
Alan Storey does not agree to this retraction. Silvia Giampieri has not explicitly stated whether she agrees to this retraction. Ramon García-Escudero has not responded to any correspondence from the editor or publisher about this retraction. The Publisher has not been able to obtain a current email address for Judith Green.
