The schematic diagram of therapeutic effects of ANXA5 in colitis. Externalized PS on the surface of colonic capillary lead to the targeted delivery of ANXA5 to colon. ANXA5 alleviates colitis by reducing inflammatory cell infiltration. Mechanistic investigations indicate that ANXA5 binds the exposed PS of activated HUVEC and inhibits its activation by triggering the internalization of TLR4 via a PS-dependent pathway
