Lived experience engagement ensured the MHM was evidenced based, but also and useable, acceptable and appropriate for people with SCI.

Engaging lived experience perspectives was instrumental in ensuring the MHM addressed authentic concerns and was not just constructed by people without such direct experience, however well- intentioned such people might be.
