The figure shows a density plot (with Gaussian assumption) of dN/dS for all 72 affected ORFs. Although the median values are similar, they are statistically different (p = 7.3 × 10-7) based on Wilcox’ test, as indicated. Multiple ORFs contributed to the peaks and troughs, although a small number of loci (PA3760, encoding a Pts system component (NagF); PA1740, encoding a hypothetical protein; and PA4100, encoding a likely dehydrogenase) appeared to be hotspots for selection.
