A In control hippocampal slices, a single 100 Hz × 1 s HFS (arrow) readily induces LTP (white squares). Fifteen-minute administration of 1 μg/ml LPS (black bar) just prior to HFS completely inhibits LTP (black circles). B When administered for 30 min prior to and during LPS, fluvoxamine (white bar) prevented the effects of LPS on LTP. C NE-100 (gray bar), a selective S1R antagonist, overcame the effect of fluvoxamine on LPS-mediated LTP block. Statistical analyses for this and other figures are provided in the text and Supplemental Table 1.
