The BACD 21st Annual Conference, held in November at the Lowry Museum in Manchester, was an outstanding and deeply rewarding experience for the 13 student representatives in attendance. Each representative was selected individually from their respective dental schools, immediately bringing a diverse range of perspectives to the week ahead. The conference provided a unique opportunity to enhance our clinical understanding while becoming fully immersed in the BACD community.
The first official day began early, with student representatives assisting venue setup and delegate registration before closely supporting the four hands-on courses throughout the day. Dr Sandra Hulac delivered a compelling masterclass on injectable composites, Dr Simon Chard showcased the potential of 3D printing across a range of treatment types, Dr Federico Brunner led an insightful workshop on the execution of full mouth rehabilitations, and Dr Mark Hughes presented comprehensive strategies for the planning and management of complex ortho-restorative cases. Whether observing or actively participating in the practical components, student representatives agreed that exposure to teaching of this calibre is rarely available at undergraduate level, making this a truly memorable experience.
