The alteration of aging microenvironment contributes to the onset and progression of OA, which consists of immune homeostatic imbalance, cellular senescence and senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), and stem cell exhaustion, leading to various downstream changes of molecules and signaling pathways. Meanwhile, current treatments and promising strategies for prevention of OA are summarized
