Dentaid The Dental Charity: a year of impact at home and abroad

Key points

  • Dentaid The Dental Charity provided care for 6,786 UK patients in 2024, delivering over 27,000 treatments via mobile clinics, with services reaching vulnerable groups, such as people experiencing homelessness, asylum seekers and survivors of abuse.

  • The BrightBites programme reached over 60,000 children, supported by a £1.2 million donation from Simplyhealth, expanding access to oral health education and hygiene products in nurseries and primary schools.

  • Dentaid expanded both internationally and within the UK, treating over 6,000 patients in Uganda, launching new regional hubs, and growing a fleet of 11 mobile dental units (including the first solar-powered clinic) to meet rising demand.
