As the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) enters its 22nd year, the mantle of President passes to Dr Carol Somerville Roberts.

Inaugurated at the BACD 21st Annual Conference in Manchester in November, Dr Somerville Roberts has previously spent six years as a board member and enters the new role with invaluable experience and the determination to continue making the academy the epicentre for ethical cosmetic dentistry in the UK.
Dr Somerville Roberts said: ‘I am honoured to have been trusted with the role of President of the BACD. I plan to cement our position as the leading academy in Europe delivering world-class, cutting-edge dental education. Having practised for almost 30 years, holding the Presidency position is the pinnacle of my career and I am very grateful for all the support and encouragement. The BACD is a real family that I believe sets us apart from others.'
Dr Somerville Roberts' tenure as President will promote stability and community, putting in place a flexible approach to how BACD members wish to receive their education and the areas that can be improved upon.
