a Western blot analysis showing MGL levels in matched normal (N) and tumor (T) tissues. Pt patient. Ponceau S staining serves as a loading control. Densitometric analyses were performed as described in the Materials and methods. The values for fold reduction in MGL levels in each tumor tissue compared to corresponding matched normal tissue was determined by assigning a value of 1 to normal tissue in each pair of patient samples. These values are written below the western blot image. Tumor tissues showing reduced MGL expression compared to matching normal tissues are indicated by asterisk '*'. b Summary of our two MGL expression studies using patient samples representing the matched normal and tumor tissues from the lungs. The results of study #1 were previously reported6 and included here to emphasize that MGL is deregulated in human lung cancer. The results of study #2 are generated in the current investigation and thus represent a different cohort of patients. Information on tumor histology for study #1 and study #2 is presented in the Supplementary Tables 1 and 2
