BMSCs increase ALKBH5 expression in NPCs when cocultured with BMSCs, thus decreasing m6A modification of FIP200 mRNA. A lower level of methylation of FIP200 transcripts results in less YTHDF2-mediated FIP200 mRNA degradation, increasing FIP200 levels, enhancing autophagy, and reducing compression-induced apoptosis in NPCs.
