Fig. 1: Bim−/− mice are susceptible to T. cruzi infection.
From: Absence of Bim sensitizes mice to experimental Trypanosoma cruzi infection

C57BL/6 WT, Bim+/−, and Bim−/− mice were inoculated i.p. with 1 × 104 trypomastigotes of the Y strain of T. cruzi. A Parasitemia was monitored daily from day 5 to 16 after infection. The results are expressed as the mean and standard deviation for each group (n = 10) and are representative of four independent experiments. The asterisk (*) represents statistically significant differences between Bim−/− and WT mice and the ≠ symbol indicates statistically significant differences between Bim−/− and Bim+/− groups. Statistical analysis was performed using two-way ANOVA, followed by Bonferroni post-test (p < 0.05). B Survival was monitored daily for 26 days. The results represent sum of three different experiments (n = 20 for Bim+/+ and Bim−/− groups and n = 10 for Bim+/− mice). Kaplan–Meier curve (log-rank test).
