Chronic ethanol consumption leads to KLHL22-mediated degradation of DEPDC5, then activates mTORC1 signaling. Aberrant activation of mTORC1 reduces the expression of PPARα and its target genes, thereby resulting in alcohol-induced liver steatosis.
