a–h Bax/Bak-STING TKO, Bax/Bak-MAVS TKO, or Bax/Bak-Zbp1 TKO cells (genetically modified by CRISPR/Cas) were infected with MVA at an MOI of 2 and supernatants were collected after 22 h. Samples were analysed for the cytokines indicated by a bead-based assay (Legendplex, antivirus response panel, Biolegend). Bax/BakDKO and Bax/Bak ctrl cells (expressing an irrelevant gRNA directed against EGFP) served as controls. Shown are the means/SEM of n = 3 independent experiments. *p < 0.05; **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001, ****p < 0.0001; ns nonsignificant (p ≥ 0.05).
