A Hoechst staining revealed typical morphologic changes during apoptosis after treatment with 30 μM AMTB for 24 h. B, C Annexin V/PI staining revealed a significant increase in apoptosis rate in 143B cells and U2OS cells after incubation with AMTB for 24 h. The data was compared by one-way ANOVA with Tukey’s multiple comparison test and shown as mean ± s.d. **P < 0.01. D, E The level of cleaved caspase-3 and cleaved PARP was examined by western blot assay and an increased cleavage of caspase-3 and PARP was observed in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Western blot is representative of three independent western blot with different lysates.
