A Enhanced mitochondrial fission promotes metabolic switching from oxidative phosphorylation to glycolysis, thereby reducing ROS-mediated degradation of OCT4 and promoting cancer stemness maintenance in liver cancer. B When mitophagy is enhanced, p53 phosphorylated by PINK1 is degraded by mitophagy, leading to increased expression of NANOG. In contrast, impaired mitophagy promotes the nuclear localization of TP53 and then inhibits the self-renewal ability of LCSCs.
