S100A2 plays a pivotal role in ccRCC by augmenting the transcriptional regulation of GLUT2 through its interaction with HNF1A. This interaction enhances the capacity of ccRCC cells to uptake glucose, ultimately amplifying glycolytic metabolism. The higher levels of glycolysis play a role in promoting distant metastasis in this scenario.
