Left panel: HRH1 activation initiates PKC and NF-κB activation, subsequently prompting ADAM9-mediated upregulation of activated TGF-β and the Snail family, thereby inducing EMT-mediated OSCC progression. Cyclical increases in the HRH1-ADAM9-Snail/Slug axis contribute to the aggravation of EMT and OSCC growth and LN metastasis. Right panel: Activated STAT3 might act as a compensatory pathway in response to HRH1 signaling blockade in OSCC cells.
