B pBabe or YAP5SA A549 cells (upper panel) and EGFP or wtYAP A549 cells treated with 1 µg/ml of doxycycline (lower panel) were seeded on plates of different stiffness and incubated in medium with or without thapsigargin (200 nM) for 48 h or tunicamycin (1 µg/ml) for 72 h, respectively. Cell death was assessed by quantification of subG1 population. Data are normalized to control. YAP expression was analyzed by western blotting.
